Challenges

A challenge is a reaction somebody wants an enzyme for. The sponsor names one substrate, the enzyme class it has to come from, the temperature and pH the job has to survive, and what a good answer looks like, then funds a pool. Dock that substrate into any enzyme in the library, let the chain prove the pose, and the best proven result by the deadline takes the pool.

Post a challenge

Post a reaction you want an enzyme for. Anyone can fund it, and if nobody wins, every funder takes back their own contribution.

Recorded as your requirement. The score does not model them.

An epoch is seven days. A challenge stays open for a whole number of them, up to 52.

The opening pool may be nothing. Anyone can add to it while the challenge is open.

A challenge is a request for a binding pose, not for laboratory work. What it buys you is a ranked shortlist with the search recorded, which is where characterization starts.

What the number means
  1. A score is a binding estimate. It says the substrate fits the active site.
  2. Binding is not catalysis. It does not tell you the enzyme turns the substrate over, or how fast.
  3. A challenge's temperature and pH are the sponsor's requirement, not an input to the score.

A strong score is where a laboratory starts, with the work already reproducible. Docs explains what a rigid receptor costs.
